Lancashire web design and SEO agency supports launch of Britain’s first ever football university

Blackburn web design and marketing agency, dpi21 is pioneering the online marketing strategy of Britain’s first University of Football.

From September, Burnley FC, one of the founder members of the Football League in 1888, will be home to Britain’s newest university – dedicated entirely to the study of football business.

The University of Football Business (UCFB) will be restricted to matters concerning the operational and business side of the industry rather than being involved in beautiful game itself.

UCFB has chosen Blackburn based web design and digital marketing agency, dpi21, to spearhead its online strategy. The company will increase awareness and visibility in order to attract international and domestic students into Pennine Lancashire.

As well as web design for the interactive website, dpi21 has been tasked to create an online ‘student life’ video and social networking pages for Facebook and Youtube.

Initially, the university will offer a range of three-year courses – including a sports law LLB, as well as BAs in football business and finance, football marketing and media, and international football.

Philip Wilson, the newly appointed chief executive said: “The courses will be business degrees wrapped around football. Graduates will be equipped with skills that will make them employable in many sectors.”

All lectures and seminars will take place within Turf Moor, Burnley FC’s stadium, in adapted suites above the home supporters’ stand.

The online campaign will help the planned multimillion-pound development of the ground – which will eventually see a major expansion, including bespoke student accommodation and a “university village” created behind where the existing away supporters sit.

UCFB’s website, created by dpi21, is can be found at http://www.ucfb.com.
