SPEE-DEE® PACKAGING MACHINERY TO SHOWCASE MULTI-AXIS SERVO AUGER FILLER AT 2011 PACK EXPO LAS VEGAS

Navin, President of Spee-Dee® Packaging Machinery, Inc., recently announced that the company will be featuring a four lane Multi-Axis 3600 Series Digitronic® Auger Filler at Pack Expo Las Vegas – Booth #3208. The show is slated for September 26 – September 28, 2011, and will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Timm Johnson, Vice President Sales/Marketing, explained that Spee-Dee’s versatile Multi-Axis system is ideal for accurately filling a variety of dry food products, including drink mixes, cocoa, soup mixes and coffee, into rigid containers. The latest version developed by the Spee-Dee team will deliver product from a common hopper with dual infeed flow. Increasing the number of delivery lanes available significantly enhances productivity, making it ideal for high output production environments. “In addition, this user-friendly unit incorporates a drawer slide feature that allows the filling head to be moved away from the conveyor. This provides immediate access to tooling, dramatically simplifying product changeover, cleaning and system maintenance functions,” he revealed.

The Spee-Dee Multi-Axis may be configured to accommodate as few as two or as many as twelve lanes, with a distance between fill tubes as close as 2.75″ on center, to accommodate specific application requirements. Each axis has its own servo motor. This allows operators to complete separate setups and adjustments for each lane to compensate for differences in hopper head pressure. As a result, all lanes dispense equally. To meet changing production mandates, lanes may be easily shut down.

Controlling the Multi-Axis auger filler is simplified through the use of a highly intuitive full color touch screen interface that boasts easy to read graphics, pop-up menus, and the ability to make adjustments while filling is in progress, without shutting down the line. Allen-Bradley platforms are available.
