Magento is a software platform that webstores are being built upon. This software, by default, holds little or no regard for the demands of wholesale and business (B2B) users.
Magento for B2B users
There are a couple of significant differences in online consumer behavior and business customers. One of the differences is that a business user usually does not click on the “add to cart” button. Aside from that, the purchase process is not only longer, but it also involves multiple people within the organization.
Cart2Quote funcionality
Cart2Quote adds extra buttons to the front-end of Magento. The “request quote” buttons lead directly to a quote list instead of the standard shopping cart. Magento quotation requests are then transferred to the back-end of Magento where the shop owner can enter his proposal details. This proposal is converted into a PDF and, if requested, forwarded with an email to the customer. Through this email the requester gets access to the Magento customer panel. In this panel the requester can respond to the offer of the shop owner. After acceptance of the proposal, the customer is automatically redirected to Magento's checkout.
