Press release from: PR News

June 20, 2011: Pete Welsh, Vice President of Polymedco, and his wife Shirley Welsh, have donated $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago.

Pete Welsh, Vice President of Polymedco having had close ties with the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago since he was a young man, presented along with his wife Shirley $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago.

Welsh said about the donation “it is truly an honor for me to donate this small gift to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago. The work they do for the youngsters is incredible – providing them with a sense of belonging and helping them with after school activities while some of their parents are working is what helps build society” Welsh continued, “My wife Shirley and I are delighted to be associated with this wonderful organization”.

The Boys and Girls Club of Chicago enables all young people, especially those in society who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The after-school hours are the most threatening time for young people, especially those who walk in some of Chicago's most economically challenged neigborhoods ravaged by violence and drugs. Yet, even in these troubled communities, the 16 Boys & Girls Clubs are standing proud and vibrant. The organizations club doors and arms are open wide to give young people:
• A safe place to learn and grow...
• Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals...
• Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences...
• Hope and opportunity

Executive and CEO of the Boys and Girls club of Chicago, James G. Keane was particularly delighted with this donation. Keane said “we wish to thank Pete and Shirley for their wonderful contribution to the club. It is with donations like this that enables us to continue our after school programs and help the children in our Community.” In addition we thank Pete as Vice President at Polymedco for his work in helping bring down health care costs - which in turn are passed on to the participants of our organization. Pete and Shirley’s donation is appreciated and we thank them on behalf of all our kids that we help.”
