Rapid Sheet Metal Inc Introduces “Rapid Tech Tips”
Nashua, NH, June 21, 2011: Rapid Sheet Metal Inc, specializing in the rapid turnaround of sheet metal prototypes, is excited to announce the release of a sheet metal design technical video “Proper Feature Location to Bends”, the first in a series of video sheet metal design technical tips for design engineers. The idea was conceived by the engineers at Rapid Sheet Metal to promote design techniques enhancing the manufacturability of sheet metal parts. Recognizing many mechanical engineers don’t have the time to interface with sheet metal shops to learn optimum design techniques, Rapid decided to create a library of brief video sheet metal technical tips that would be available on an as-need basis 24/7. Design engineers can review the videos at their leisure and pick only topics of interest to them.
“Offering a series of sheet metal design technique videos to fellow engineers is a great opportunity to help out the people we work with on a daily basis.” said Steve Lynch, Engineering Manager at Rapid Sheet Metal. “It benefits both sides. Rapid Sheet Metal will introduce a new tech tip every two months. The first sheet metal tech tip, “Proper Feature Location to Bends”, is now available for viewing on the Rapid Sheet Metal web page, www.rapidsheetmetal.com, or on YouTube on the Rapid Sheet Metal™ Channel. Future tips, along with previously introduced ones, can be found on both web sites.
Rapid Sheet Metal Inc focuses strictly on providing sheet metal prototypes and time sensitive short run fabrications to new product developers and engineers. Typical quote response time is well under 24 hours and most parts are shipped in one to two weeks. A 48-hour fast expedite prototype sheet metal service is also available. Parts such as brackets, rac¬ks, housings, and enclosures are fabricated to customer data from SolidWorks, Pro/E, SpaceClaim , Inventor, KeyCreator and other 3D CAD data sources from stainless steel, cold rolled steel and aluminum materials.
