Lumina Datamatics Improves Peer Review Process Efficiency by Launching an Online Platform (Mars) for Automated Manuscript Pre-Screening

Plymouth, MA, June 11, 2019 - Lumina Datamatics, a global content technology solutions provider for scholarly publishers, has announced the launch of it’s Manuscript Assessment & Review System (MARS), a proprietary online platform for assisting authors and publishers to screen their manuscript content. This system ensures possible pitfalls with respect to the manuscript are identified at an early stage of the article acceptance process.

Article submission for journals is a time-consuming and iterative process. Research data shows that 20 to 30% of manuscripts are rejected at the initial screening and approximately 40% are rejected after peer review. This makes this whole process inefficient and cumbersome.

With more than 2 million journal articles published yearly, it becomes imperative to screen for possible language and structural problems upstream in the article lifecycle.

Lumina’s Manuscript Assessment and Reporting System does just that.
