SGS Workshop on Instrumentation and Control Valves is Huge Success

SGS, is pleased to report that it held a successful Workshop on Instrumentation and Control Valves on May 14, 2011 at the SGS PID valve calibration shop in Esteio, Brazil. With 40 representatives from the local industry present, including coordinators, supervisors, instrumentation, mechanical and electromechanical technicians, instrumentalists and pipe fitters, the Workshop on Instrumentation and Control Valves provided a perfect meeting place to learn more about the latest trends in the instrumentation and control valves sector.

Luciano Xavier of SGS Brazil, who conducted the workshop, talked about the latest techniques in industrial instrumentation, calibration and loop tests for the commissioning of process plants, as well as the inspection and maintenance of control and safety/relief valves.

The participants had a unique chance to visit the SGS valve shop and calibration laboratories to learn more about SGS services in this sector. The Workshop on Instrumentation and Control Valves took place for a second time, due to the high demand for such training services, and proved to be a great success.

About SGS Valve and Instrumentation Calibration and Maintenance

A calibration and maintenance program assures instrument accuracy and consistent process control. It also eliminates instrument-related problems and decreases process downtime caused by control failures. With SGS Valve and Instrumentation Calibration and Maintenance services, SGS’s qualified instrument technicians have the training and equipment necessary to test, calibrate and verify the accuracy of industrial instrumentation and valves. SGS also offers this as an in-plant service and can usually perform the testing without removing the equipment from its location and without disrupting the normal process operation.
