RSconnect launches auto-login for Extension Mobility in HCS Cloud Communications

RSconnect, a specialized software and solutions company for Cisco Unified Collaboration Service technology, offers a new solution that provides HCS Cloud Communications providers with an automatic login feature for their Extension Mobility users.

Extension Mobility is a powerful VoIP feature that allows people to work at any desk in the office. They enter a username and PIN and their personal settings are loaded to that desktop phone. However, typing a username and PIN on a telephone is very inconvenient. The RSconnect ALM solution solves this. The software detects when a user activates his or her laptop and automatically loads the associated desktop phone with his settings. Logging in isn’t necessary anymore. At the end of the session the phone is automatically logged out again. Simple and secure.

For HCS Cloud Communications providers this is a new and interesting offering to their customers and end-users. The solution provides a strong differentiator from baseline cloud communications offerings. It also provides a potential additional revenue stream per end-user. The service is up and running in a few hours without complex integration. ALM works seamlessly with the existing CUCM servers in the cloud. The solution also supports Virtual Desktop Infrastructures, Container Based Virtualizations or Remote Desktop Services.

The first service provider offering the solution to customers is Netconnex, a leading provider of private, hybrid and public cloud solutions to business customers in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg. Jeroen Hermans, Netconnex CEO, about the new service: “The solution is being deployed in two consecutive phases at a customer with 30 locations and approximately 2000 employees. We also expect additional customer rollouts soon. We have an active customer community and customers inform each other actively about new functionality they use and their experiences. ALM is certainly seen a positive add-on to our UCaaS offering.”
