Ultimate EMR Launches

April 2, 2007, Miami Florida: Empower Med, Inc. announces the immediate release of Ultimate EMR on Sourceforge.net and Plone.org under the GNU General Public License. Ultimate EMR is the first Plone(tm) based, full-featured, web-enabled Electronic Medical Record software.

According to company President Eddy Augsten: "A major gap has been filled. This release ends the lack of good Electronic Medical Record software in the Python/Zope/Plone universe. Ultimate EMR is based on Plone, a world-class content management system. Our customers benefit from the efforts of thousands of developers worldwide while getting all the specific and comprehensive medical applications they need to run a practice. We offer unbeatable value."

Hosting for Ultimate EMR starts at $125/m per provider. Extra fee's may apply for complex situations but the average small practice should have initial fee's under $1500, usually reserved for data migration, site customizations (limited). Maintenance and Support is included in the monthly fee.

Ultimate EMR has been in development for 4 years. The company currently has 8000 patients in system. Ultimate EMR offers completely web-based scheduling, charting, prescription writing and billing and is available now.

Ultimate EMR started as a proprietary application in 1999 with one objective - to create a feature rich Electronic Medical Record that was both cutting edge and affordable to small medical practice providers. With the dramatic tide of interest in EMR's over the past 5 years hundreds of EMR's from the garage programmer to multi-billion dollar enterprises have flooded the industry. We witnessed this overwhelming influx and hoped it would curb the paradigm between the feature heavy, high cost systems and those that were low cost and bare-bones.

In 2003 our business model shifted. We collaborated with an advanced group of developers and changed our objective. We were to develop a Commercial Open Source Core EMR product that would break the paradigm and bring about a low cost and feature rich solution
