SONICA announce plans to redefine a space in Skerries Point Shopping Centre; specifically aimed at FDI.
The company has released plans that would see job creation boosted in the vicinity with the creation of a 124no. seat Incubator-Style office with adjoining conference & events facility.

High-end multi-national interior fitout company, SONICA have announced plans to expand their corporate footprint into a 24,000ft2 space in Skerries Point Shopping Centre, Fingal, Dublin. The ambitious move will see the company head-quartered within the complex while maintaining the adjoining space for an innovative “First Landings” model for new Clients.
The concept of First Landings is a wholly bespoke incubator space for new Foreign Direct Investment Clients entering the Irish market. It is a location for these Clients to work, interview, hire and grow from. SONICA will offer rent-free periods for incoming Clients and give them full access to SONICA’s design, agency, legal and construction staff. Described by Managing Director, Donnacha Neary; “new Clients to the market will be given a 3-month rent free base to work from, complete with access to our fully fitted and bespoke serviced office. This is a revolutionary model in Ireland where the Client is put firmly back at the centre of the construction process.” A member of the American Chamber of Commerce, SONICA plans to leverage existing and new relationships to ensure businesses arriving in Ireland can avail of a conveniently-located, state-of-the-art hub near Dublin Airport in which to base their operations.
As part of the model, the SONICA Team will work with these businesses to coach them through their growth plans until they are ready to move out of the 'First Landings' incubator space and into their own offices. Donnacha Neary has described the move by saying “it means we can still remain competitive in the traditional fitout landscape, while continually growing our operation and providing a more comprehensive, end-to-end service for new SONICA clients”. The “First Landings” service will not only produce industry leading space plans and engineering performance specifications but also the most up-to-date market relevant advice on Building selection, Lease negotiation, CAPEX forecasting, migration management, let strategy derivation, asset registry collation, supply chain selection, supplier framework initiation, Collateral Warranty formulation and maintenance scheduling over the entire Lease Term.”
The space at first floor level will provide for a 124 no. seat office space with associated meeting rooms, display areas, reception and staff canteen area. A 120 no. seat auditorium and reception area is proposed at ground floor level which is to be used primarily for staff events, launches and conferences. This space will also be used for "Open Door" events where members of the public and the business community can attend SONICA hosted talks, conferences or social events.
It is expected that the proposed development will attract more retail and commercial uses to the area, which SONICA believe will result in massive economic gains for the local area and represents an opportunity to provide for significant employment for the locale.
SONICA are renowned for their state-of-the-art fitouts completed for their extensive Client portfolio and have suggested that the fitout of Skerries Point will be nothing short of the excellence that has been demonstrated in previous projects. The space will be required to serve the needs of a dynamic group of Clients and the final design will be tailored as such and reflective of the highest standards in modern fitout. The expected date for completion is November 2019 with first Clients moving in early 2020.
