SGS INTRON Conducts Certification Services for TenCate Grass and Partners

As an independent third-party company, SGS INTRON was assigned a contract to provide extensive Certification Services for TenCate Grass and its partners in 2010. During the entire contract, SGS INTRON has developed and implemented various certification schemes and conducted Certification Services. With SGS INTRON’s Certification, TenCate Grass is the first company in the international synthetic grass industry to offer its clients an insured performance warranty on the performance and durability of its artificial turf pitches.

TenCate Grass is global market leader in the development and production of synthetic turf components and systems for top-flight sports, recreation and landscape applications, with production facilities in Europe, Middle East, North America and Asia. With the aim to qualitatively position its product in the market, TenCate Grass looked for a reliable third-party company to provide the development and implementation of a certification program for its artificial turf components and systems.

Throughout the entire duration of the contract, SGS INTRON has developed and implemented certification schemes for the manufacture of components of artificial turf and the design of sport services. Moreover, SGS INTRON has provided certification schemes for the construction and maintenance of synthetic turf systems. With a team of highly experienced experts, SGS INTRON tested the synthetic turf components and systems in accordance with the field of application and standards established by sports associations.

The certification program developed by SGS INTRON gives TenCate Grass and its partners the possibility to offer their clients an insured performance warranty for the artificial turf pitches. An insurance company only issues the performance warranty in combination with SGS INTRON’s Certification.

With the SGS INTRON’s help, TenCate Grass, together with its business partners, presented the TenCate Performance Warranty certificate to Flevo Boys Football Club in Emmeloord, the Netherlands, on April 13, 2011. The certificate will guarantee performance of the turf pitches in accordance with the global standards and test criteria set by FIFA for a period of five years. With the launch of the TenCate Performance Warranty, TenCate Grass offers warranty and insurance, developed in cooperation with ALLIANZ Nederland Groep, on the performance and durability of its synthetic turf pitches, and is the first company in the international synthetic grass industry to do so.
