Ron Rosenhead, of Project Agency.

Project management training and development specialist, Project Agency, has revealed that 14,000 delegates have successfully completed its ‘Perfect Project’ two-day training course. Project Agency began running the course in 1997 – so, on average, some 1,000 people each year, or over 19 people every week during that period, have completed the course.

The course, which focuses on delivering practical project management training and development to professional staff at all levels, forms the basis for a set of e-learning modules which Project Agency recently launched. Combining reading material, activities (with model answers), audio commentary, video, on-screen guidance and assessments, the e-learning program is designed to encourage and reinforce learning. It introduces the learner to a project management approach that is used throughout the UK and Europe.

The e-learning materials enable learners to:
• use a standardised framework for defining, planning and controlling projects
• recognise the role(s) they play and define other people’s contribution to the project management process
• recognise and reduce risks within all types of project work and
• use a range of tools related to project management

Ron Rosenhead, chief executive at Project Agency, explained: “Like our new e-learning materials, the Perfect Project course is intended for those who want to deliver projects effectively and with a high degree of success. The course is intended for anyone who wants to develop their project management skills – and/ or who wants to understand what lies beneath successful project delivery.”

Over the years, Project Agency staff have trained delegates who are doctors, scientists, accountants, lawyers, financiers, university lecturers and social workers. Moreover, the course has been delivered to professionals in engineering, financial services, the retail sector, pharmaceuticals, the motor manufacturing sector, universities, charities, professional associations, consultancies and to public sector staff.

“We’ve delivered the Perfect Project all over the UK and in Europe, too,” said Rosenhead. “Always, we receive positive and encouraging feedback from the course delegates – and, in some companies, the course has become’ the de facto standard for project management.

“The course is known for its practical approach, the great supporting materials and excellent tutor support,” he added. “It can be used as a stand-alone process for developing project management skills and some companies have combined the course with other elements to help develop project management skills such as: one-to-one coaching which is included in the development process, and training senior managers – project sponsors – to ensure they carry out their role effectively.

“We’re delighted to have achieved this milestone of 14,000 delegates – and we look forward to achieving many further similar milestones.”
