Press release from: P1 Groupe

/ PR Agency: Strategic Vison, LLC
P1 Groupe driver Jim Goughary is excited to run at Watkins Glen International as the inaugural season of the F1600 Formula F Championship Series continues. This is the second of five weekends that this series will run. This weekend will also be rounds three and four of ten on the 2011 season schedule. Goughary will be running his #7 Raceworks Honda powered Piper DF5 race car this weekend with a great deal of momentum as he won the inaugural race back at VIR in early April as well as finishing 7th in the second race of the weekend. In order to have continued success this season Goughary will have to survive the twists and turns that The Glen provides. Watkins Glen is a daring road course not for the faint of heart, where drivers must take risks in order to make their way to victory.

“Looking forward to The Glen” Goughary mentions; “It is one of my all-time favorites. We have had so much success there over the years, the Trans-Am win in 2009, multiple national wins, several track records, and this is where I won my first national race ever in 1989! I cannot wait to get at it this weekend.”

Goughary will battle strong competition that make up the 30 car field. He was able to win at VIR with two broken ribs following a snowboarding accident, and now he will be even more of a threat being 100% healthy. Drivers will be running either Ford or Honda power this weekend, and it will be interesting to see how the series responds to the engine parity that occurred at VIR. They are hoping to see both motors become more equal this weekend with Goughary putting his chances with Honda for the season.

Follow action on the web at F1600Series.com. Rounds three and four will take place at Watkins Glen International beginning on Friday June 3rd and ending on Sunday June 5th on the 11-turn, 3.5 mile road course.
