In its latest report, Researchica UK estimates that 5G subscriber base will reach 1.5 billion in 2025. Asia will be the leading 5G market by 2025, accounting for more than 50% of the global 5G market. Europe is expected to account for close to 17% of total 5G subscriptions in 2025. Bolstered by the continued development of 5G mobile networks, there will be close to 1 billion 5G subscriptions in 2023. The global 5G subscription is projected to grow at a CAGR of 73% during 2020 and 2025.

In its report, titled, “4G to 5G: Worldwide Developments, Deployments, Revenue Models, & Forecasts 2019 to 2025”, the UK-based market research and consultancy company projects that 5G is expected to account for 10% of the total mobile subscription globally in 2023.

4G carried 75% of the total mobile traffic in 2018, and represented the largest share of mobile data traffic by network type. It will continue to grow faster than other networks to represent 77% of all mobile data traffic in 2019. 5G will support just 1% of mobile traffic by the end of 2019.

South Korea has already reached 1 million 5G users just after 69 days of deployment. South Korea launched the world’s first large scale 5G mobile networks in April 2019. The simultaneous 5G deployment by SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus was possible due to strong back up by Korean government as it wants to stimulate stuttering economic growth.

5G will not only enrich experiences for existing applications but also enable new IoT use cases which cannot be enabled by 4G, which helped launch the app revolution and breathed a second wind into the largest internet companies. 5G will serve and change how we think about connectivity for home, enterprises and other industry verticals.
The fourth industrial revolution is now one of the most important keywords of the global economy. In the current market scenario, commercialisation of 5G networks by operators across the globe is being called for to accelerate the innovation of industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and entertainment.

This report examines 4G to 5G planning by operators, network deployment considerations, product and pricing strategies and 5G adoption trends as well as drivers for market growth. Highlighting what works and what doesn’t — based on the experience of commercial operators — it uncovers the pain points and the keys to success for 5G service providers worldwide.

This report provides a five-year forecast of 5G demand to enable executives to effectively position their companies for emerging trends in demand for their products and growth opportunities.
