Kate Yelkovan Chosen to Represent Danville at Miss California Teen USA Competition

Kate Yelkovan has been selected to represent the East Bay at the Miss California Teen USA® Competition as Miss Danville Teen USA. Her selection was based on her academic standing, involvement in her community, her passion for the pursuit of excellence and her interest in empowering other young women to follow in her footsteps.

Kate is a 16 year old early college student with a 4.0/4.0 GPA. She is double majoring in business administration and psychology with the goal of attending law school. Miss California Teen USA® is her first pageant competition. She hopes to use her title of Miss Danville Teen USA as a platform to raise awareness for the under-diagnosis of girls with autism spectrum disorder and to prove that girls with Asperger’s can look the same and do the same things as other girls. Kate is also currently seeking meetings with our California state representatives to draft a bill to improve internet privacy and cyberstalking laws for minor victims of sexual assault.

As the daughter of two immigrants, Kate is a proud American of Turkish descent. Her hobbies include photography, comedic skit writing, and competitive gymnastics. At age 12 she developed her love of fashion when she founded an online clothing business from no startup capital. After college, Kate intends to passionately pursue a career of law and activism.

The Executive State Directors, the Chrisley Family, will conduct California’s oldest and most celebrated competition this coming January 2020 to qualify two young ladies to advance to either Miss Teen USA or Miss USA and ultimately Miss Universe.
