Press release from: cistera

Cistera Networks® (CNWT.PK), a leading provider of enterprise application platforms and engines for unified communications, announces the delivery of enhanced virtualization for unified communications application servers.

Cistera is mid-way through a refresh of hardware platforms that will expand their capability to enhance the number of supported devices and applications significantly. With the release of the Cistera Convergence 2.0 due later this year, the number of supported devices per server will expand to over 10,000 devices through the use of enhanced virtualization capabilities inherent on the Cistera platform.

Cistera Convergence Servers significantly reduce the platform and carbon footprint of unified communication implementations by integrating multiple application engines on a single high performance, highly available platform. Cistera hardware and software is optimized to serve multiple voice systems concurrently and integrate them seamlessly into data infrastructure.

“The Cistera platform has always been able to virtualize applications and with the new versions of hardware and software it will significantly increase this,” says Cistera CEO Greg Royal. “We were the first to virtualize recording and monitoring systems, voicemail, directory systems and notification systems back in 2005 and that approach has since become the norm. Now with the new capabilities, our customer with more than 10,000 employees can provide all that capability on a single server such as the Cistera 5500 series”.

The award-wining Cistera ConvergenceServer is one of the industry’s most comprehensive delivery platforms for providing a robust and scalable solution that adds features and functionality to a communications environment. Each Cistera ConvergenceServer comes equipped with the full range of Cistera application engines, making installation and expansion a simple, straightforward process. The platform’s broad portfolio of virtualized application services enables users to improve satisfaction, increase productivity and collaboration as well as provide a safer environment. Based on open standards and a proven server technology foundation, the Cistera ConvergenceServer’s single unified administration lowers the total cost of ownership of a full-featured communications solution.

Cistera Networks is a leading provider of Event Alerting and Notification application infrastructure for large-scale enterprises and government public safety services. Cistera’s award-winning platform, the Cistera Convergence Server delivers the most reliable, scalable and secure services for IP-centric notification and reporting capability available today.
