Invitation: 14th European Health Forum Gastein
Innovation & Wellbeing – European Health in 2020 and BeyondBad Hofgastein, Salzburg, October 5 to 8, 2011
The European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) is being held again this year in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, from October 5 to 8, 2011. Top representatives from the fields of government and administration, business and industry, civil society, science and academia from the EU member states and the WHO Region of Europe will come together for this 14th EHFG to discuss the future of European health policy.
The European Health Forum Gastein is an internationally renowned gathering for health policy and attracts around 600 participants from some 60 countries every year. The EHFG also draws representatives from Russia, Taiwan and the SEE countries, which is another indication of its leading role.
Some of the topics of the EHFG in 2011:
• Health by design – The road to well-being
• Health 2020 – European healthcare approaches and strategies for the future
• Innovation partnership on active and healthy ageing
• Trends in health technology assessment
• The burden of non-communicable diseases
• Future of Medicine - Personalised medicine
This year’s forum once again expects to host officials from the very top echelons of government from around the globe. Keynote speakers include:
- John Dalli, EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, European Commission
- Zuzana Jakab, Regional Director, WHO Europ
- Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science
- Bertel Haarder, Minister for the Interior and Health, Denmark
- Alois Stöger, Minister for Health, Austria
The EHFG provides ideal opportunities to meet high caliber politicians, policymakers and experts and interview them on a broad range of current topics in European health policy.
