Press release from: Elan the Magazine

New York, NY (May 17, 2011) - The top US Muslim online lifestyle publication, Elan, has relaunched with new branding and expanded content to broaden it’s reach to the global market. Founded in 2008 and named as one of the hottest launches of the year by Min magazine, Elan has focused on highlighting prominent voices from within the global community as well as showcasing the upscale lifestyle of young professionals. Elan's engaging content covers topics ranging from business and architecture to sports and fashion. After accomplishing a strong foothold within the US market, the publication is now growing its readership base to include a more global audience.

The publication’s new content includes video footage and editorial coverage of stories by correspondents from around the world. One exciting new addition to the publication’s content is the Webisode section featuring celebrity interviews and social commentary pieces. Some upcoming Webisodes include the Muhammad Ali Art Installation by Michael Kalish, an interview with Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali of Jordan, interview with US Special Representative Farah Pandith and Exploring the Creative Field in the Middle East.

Coinciding with the expansion, the publication also has announced a new tagline, “The Voices We Love. The Stories We Live.” This new defining tagline shows how the publication is redefining itself as contributing to the narrative of the global Muslim story with diverse voices contributing within the community. Published, Moniza Khokhar stated, ”We wanted the publication to grow to a place where our community comes to learn about the world in general, interact, and, communicate their life stories to enhance the experience of the world around us all. The new format and branding really cements our vision opens up so many possibilities for the publication that we’re really excited about.”

One feature that will not change about the publication is the nonpolitical and nonreligious tone and focus of its content. Since the beginning, Elan has been dedicated to covering the most interesting stories that are frequently over-powered by a heavy focus on the political stories of the Muslim community. The publication excels at creating editorial from the cultural perspective and the readership has responded enthusiastically to their unique approach. On Elan’s content, Khokhar stated “Our content is entertaining, fresh, and highlights subjects that the readers are seeking to learn about, but aren’t necessarily getting from other media sources. The audience has been very supportive and we really look forward to hearing how they feel about all the new features and content we will be offering now.”
