Press release from: Avercast LLC

Avercast® is the innovative leader in Business Forecasting, Inventory Planning, and Web Collaboration Software.

Avercast® is the innovative leader in Business Forecasting, Inventory Planning, and Web Collaboration Software.

Markwins International produces many of the most recognized and successful brands in cosmetics. It operates its own manufacturing facilities, contracts with suppliers around the world and has four warehouses. When the company sought greater forecasting accuracy and better collaboration with customers and suppliers, they found Avercast would require no change in the company’s current setup, deliver the requirements of the project and provide additional benefits not previously considered.

The project’s seamless integration from old technology to new put it on the “100 Great Supply Chain Projects” published in the upcoming issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine.

Promotional activity requires a near-constant analysis of the company’s 10,000 database records. Each brand and each customer may have five or six major promotions per year. Previously, planners worked relatively independently on spreadsheets which would then need to be re-entered into forecasts.

Markwins’ key suppliers can view the company forecast while customers enter their own projections for Markwins’ products. With 185 algorithms built in, Avercast has more than double the number of algorithms provided in Markwins’ old system.

“Avercast is more interactive, results in greater accuracy, helps track promotional impact on our supply chain and provides a stronger connection to suppliers and customers,” said Martin Toh, General Manager for Markwins International. “It fit our unique needs without an expensive, time-consuming set-up, deployment or extensive fine-tuning.”

“Markwins International’s supply chain transformation had a significant impact on the company,” said Barry Hochfelder, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “The company met and exceeded its objectives, and the response time for its planners was improved through more up-to-the-minute projections.”

The project took four weeks and interfaced with Markwins’ in-house ERP system for some functions and Oracle’s ERP for financial controls.

Avercast® inventory forecasting and demand planning solutions are the world’s first easy-to-use tools to optimize inventory according to true demand. Avercast’s forecasting technology includes an industry-leading 185 forecasting algorithms to optimize product trending, sales seasonality, new product introductions, mature and aging products, intermittent product demand, low-volume and slow-moving products, product promotions and much more. Please call 208-538-5380 or visit avercast.com for more information or to schedule a personal demonstration using your company’s inventory and demand data.
