Sputnik Engineering will be present on the Genera
Biel, 3rd May 2011. 20 years ago Sputnik Engineering AG was founded in Biel, Switzerland. Five years ago the company, which develops and manufactures grid-connected solar inverters, formed the subsidiary Sputnik Engineering Ibérica in order to enter the Spanish photovoltaics market. The Spanish team will celebrate both anniversaries at the Energy and Environment International Trade Fair Genera from 11 to 13 May 2011 in Madrid, Spain. The company will present its portfolio of solar inverters for photovoltaic systems.
Along with the single-phase SolarMax S string inverters for small-scale systems, with rated outputs of up to 4.6 kilowatts, Sputnik will present its most recent innovation; the flexible three-phase SolarMax MT string inverter range. At rated outputs of 10, 13, and 15 kilowatts the devices work with up to three MPP trackers so that roof-mounted systems with different surface areas, orientations, and inclinations can be designed using only one inverter. For large-scale systems, Sputnik will present their C and TS series central inverters, with rated outputs from 20 to 300 kilowatts.
“Our company can look back on 20 years of experience in developing and manufacturing grid-connected solar inverters and ranks amongst the pioneers of the photovoltaics market,” says Fernando Sánchez García, General Manager of Sputnik Engineering Ibérica. “We provide our customers with reliable products, in Swiss quality and with the proper inverter solutions for each system. Developing good partner-like relationships with our customers is very important to us in order to continue to grow within the Spanish and Portuguese markets together with them.”
Visitors to the fair can find Sputnik at the Genera in hall 4, at booth 013.

About Sputnik Engineering AG
Sputnik Engineering AG, a Swiss company, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of grid-connected solar inverters. Under the name SolarMax the company develops, produces and sells inverters for every facility – from photovoltaic systems on single-family homes whose kilowatt output is modest, to the solar power plants whose output is measured in megawatts. The inverter is a key component of the solar plant, transforming the generated direct current into grid-compliant alternating current. Superior efficiency and long service life are the hallmarks of SolarMax products, whose technology is always state of the art, because of their reliable Swiss quality.
Today, Sputnik Engineering has a staff of 330 at its Swiss corporate headquarters and its subsidiaries in Neuhausen (Germany), Madrid (Spain), Milan (Italy) and Saint Priest (France) and at their branch locations in Brussels, Prague and London.

SolarMax 330TS-SV receives BDEW unit certificate
Most powerful central inverter of Sputnik Engineering meets the criteria of the BDEW Medium-Voltage Directive. Biel, 18 August 2011: Newly commissioned grid-coupled inverters equipped with a direct medium-voltage connection in Germany must demonstrate their compliance with the directive “Generator plants on the medium-voltage network” by means of a unit certificate of the BDEW (German Association of Energy and Water Industries). The SolarMax central inverter 330TS-SV has now received this certificate. Evaluation
