Press release from: CONRIC PR & Marketing

Safe workplaces cut costs and increase productivity. Local manufacturers who want to upgrade and maintain their safety protocols can hear from one of Florida’s leading experts on occupational health and safety. Brian L. Warrick, director of the University of South Florida SafetyFlorida Consultation Program, will be the keynote speaker at a Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association roundtable discussion on Wednesday, May 15 from 8-9:30 a.m. at CareerSource on 4150 Ford St. Extension in Fort Myers.

The forum, called “Beyond Compliance: Implementation of an Effective Safety Management System,” will cover how to address safety concerns and Occupational Health and Safety Administration regulations. Warrick will share the insight he’s gained from more than 30 years of leadership experience in environmental, occupational health and safety, including 20 years as a U.S. Air Force officer.

“The program our esteemed keynote speaker is in charge of serves thousands of companies across the state, reduces costs associated with injury, lowers workers’ compensation premiums and increases productivity,” SRMA Executive Director Neil Kagan said. “This is a tremendous opportunity to learn best practices that save lives and money.”

Warrick also worked for two global infrastructure and environmental services firms, a major mining company and ITT Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturing company. He holds a doctorate in organizational management from Walden University and a master’s in environmental science. He's also a board-certified safety professional and industrial hygienist.

The cost to attend the SRMA discussion is just $10 for members and $20 for non-members. Visit srma.net and click on the events tab to register. The site also lists member benefits, provides information on training programs and includes a directory of area manufacturers.
