CameronTec utilizes subscription licensing from Agilis Software; Case Study published.
Agilis Software today announced that CameronTec, a subsidiary of Orc Software, has deployed Agilis' EasyLicenser License Manager to support subscription and feature-based licensing for its FIX infrastructure and connectivity solutions.In 2008 CameronTec switched from a perpetual licensing to a subscription-licensing model for all its FIX infrastructure and connectivity solutions. It required a commercial solution that would easily handle customer access for software with regard to subscription time limits according to current license contracts. After briefly considering in-house development of the required license manager, CameronTec instead opted for the Agilis EasyLicenser solution as a better low-touch strategic alternative.
EasyLicenser today manages the CameronTec subscription license and also controls about 20 modules in its suite of products. Previously, CameronTec provided custom downloads for each customer and the libraries purchased. EasyLicenser has superseded this somewhat heavy and time-consuming manual process.
Max Colas, Chief Product Officer for CameronTec, explains: “In the past license management proved challenging for us and the historical process required too much manual intervention. Thanks to Agilis and EasyLicenser we can now enjoy one-touch license management for all our customers. EasyLicenser effectively manages module and connection enablement within subscription allocation. In summing up, it simplifies our operations while providing peace of mind.”
