The workplace is changing. Can employee benefits keep up?
BLOOMINGTON, MN (April 18, 2019) ⎯ The pace of change in health care is fast and furious. And high-performing companies are working hard to keep up by creating purpose-driven work environments that attract and retain top talent across demographic groups. The Minnesota Health Action Group’s 12th Annual Employer Leadership Summit on May 2 will address how the changing workforce — as well as the physical workplace — are influencing the type of benefits employers offer.Employers, business leaders, human resource professionals, and health care companies will benefit from Minnesota-based and nationally known speakers who will provide inspiration, actionable insights, and tools to help employers address the health and well-being needs of the workforce of the future. Summit attendees will also receive an exclusive sneak peek at findings from the Minnesota Health Action Group’s Annual Employer Benefits Survey, which tracks benefit trends from public and private entities that are headquartered in and have employees in Minnesota. Official survey results won’t be released until mid-May, giving Summit attendees early access to valuable trend information that can influence benefit design.
The Leadership Summit will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Westin Edina Galleria in Edina, MN. More than 200 Minnesota employers, health care experts, and health care companies are expected to attend to discuss today’s most pressing health care issues and the value of investing in a healthy workforce. The theme for this year’s Summit, “CHANGE @ THE SPEED OF LIFE: Investing in the Workforce of Tomorrow,” will challenge attendees to think differently, imagining the future of the workplace and the benefit needs of an increasingly diverse workforce. Speakers will offer perspectives and reveal new approaches to the role employers and business leaders play in evolving workplace benefits and supporting employee success.
“Employers continue to be the engine for change and innovation in health care, tackling issues that drive systemic cost increases while preventing employees from living their best lives,” said Carolyn Pare, president and CEO of the Minnesota Health Action Group. “The Summit brings together some of the brightest minds in health care, along with visionary business leaders and entrepreneurs to discuss solutions that are truly changing the conversation about benefits, health care, and placing value and compassion above ROI.”
The Summit is a venue where employers of all sizes, as well as C-suite leaders, benefits professionals, health care policy leaders, health plan executives, and health care providers can share experiences and ideas in a collaborative format. The event will feature thought-provoking presentations from experts and panelists, including:
• Ken Horstman, Senior Director of Total Compensation, University of Minnesota
• Becky Ditmer, Principal, EY
• Elena Valentine, CEO, Skill Scout
• Jaclyn Wainwright, CEO, AiR Healthcare Solutions
• Darcy Gruttadaro, Director, Center for Workplace Mental Health, American Psychiatric Association Foundation
