GO! Network® receives IRS 501(c)3 Determination Letter, green light to continue as independent organization
APRIL 14, 2011 (ST. LOUIS) – In a process that began in November of 2010, GO! Network passes a key milestone in the transition from an outreach program of St. Patrick Center to an independent non-profit organization. Just 33 days after an initial Internal Revenue Service filing, GO! Network officials have received their Determination Letter, granting tax exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Under the direction of Roni Chambers and David Greenwalt, GO! Network will continue to grow independently as the one of the largest and most comprehensive professional training, networking and coaching organizations in St. Louis. In reaction to the speed of response, Fred Kruger, attorney with Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal, P.C. who assisted GO! Network in the application remarked “Well, I was fairly stunned. I had to read the letter again to make sure it said what I thought it said. This is an extraordinary response and speaks to the importance of addressing the unemployment need. This means everyone can really get to work now.”
“The completion of our IRS filing represents a tremendous step forward in the growth and development of GO! Network” said Roni Chambers, GO! Network Director. “There is an entirely new employment model being used today, and our independent status will allow us to continue to grow and adapt to serve the professional community with support that is not available through traditional public and private sector resources.”
Greg Vogelweid, COO of St. Patrick Center “We look forward to supporting GO! Network through the use of our conference center and we are excited that a program we nurtured is building a sustainable model that will continue to support unemployed professionals in our community.”
David Greenwalt, GO! Network’s President & COO comments on the transition, “The move to an independent organization enables expansion of this innovative response to the critical issues surrounding today’s employment.”
Throughout 26 months of growth and expansion, GO! Network has remained free to all participants, relying solely on the donations and support of corporate and private partners, as well as the efforts of a core group of dedicated volunteers.
