Waste to Energy (WTE) is the process of waste into a fuel source. It is a form of energy recovery. The process of WTE generate electricity and/or heat directly through combustion, or produce a combustible fuel such as methane, methanol, ethanol or synthetic fuels. The simplest example of WTE is “biogas” made by breakdown of animal waste and organic waste. The energy plant works by burning waste matter at high temperatures and using the heat to make steam. This steam then drives a turbine that creates electricity. WTE is a way of saving fossil fuels and to get rid of the waste more ecologically.
