On behalf of Siemens AG, FST Industrie GmbH provides Re-cooling systems to be used in the field of energy transmission and distribution for a project in Canada.

The assignment involves the supply of systems for the cooling of the power factor correction station, which are used in a FACT System for the Canadian network provider Hydro One in South Ontario.

FST Industrie GmbH is responsible for the complete engineering, construction and manufacturing and also for mounting and commissioning.

FST’s cooling systems consist of a clean water circle with pumps, a water preparation system, heat exchangers, a facilities control system and the relevant stainless steel pipe installation. Operational safety and high disposability of the systems are guaranteed by the highest manufacturing quality in connection with redundant components.

Flexible Altering Transmission Systems (FACTS) are used worldwide to support common AC networks and increase their efficiency. This offers the network provider an increase of the existing network capacities with concurrent preservation and improves network stability.

Through this new major contract, FST further expands its position as a leading manufacturer of cooling systems for rectifiers applied in the high voltage technology.

Customized and intelligent technical solutions with very high quality and test requirements are within the core competences of FST Industrie GmbH.

With approx. 140 employees at the Berlin site, FST Industrie GmbH has already proven itself as a specialty supplier. Thereby, the core competences of the committed company are found among others in the fields of project planning, construction and manufacturing of complex facilities (e.g. re-cooling facilities for converter systems and power factor correction facilities).

A further focus consists in the manufacturing of assemblies and components with increased quality and test requirements (e.g. for the application in high voltage switch and transmission technology, for power generation and large drive technology).
