Press release from: Platinum Communities

Columbus, WI (APRIL 12, 2019): Residents of Larson House Memory Care and Assisted Living Community returned back home after a four day evacuation due to flooding of the Crawfish River and closure of River Road in Columbus which displaced many in our community. “There is no place like home,” resident Shirley exclaimed upon her return to Larson House.
The call to evacuate came Thursday evening and within a few hours Administrator Missy Bloomhuff, LPN, and House Manager Miindy Austin and their amazing staff, residents’ family members and countless volunteers safely relocated all residents to temporary housing. Without their assistance and that of our tremendous community partners, it would not have been possible. We would like to give a heartfelt shout out of appreciation to:
City of Columbus Emergency Management & Director Amy Sandow
Columbus Family Restaurant
Columbus Fire Department and Randy Koehn
Columbus Hospital
Columbus Library
Columbus Senior Center
Crossroads of Mayville
Dodge County Sheriff Department (MRAP)
Generations Hospice
Heartland Hospice
Hillside Hospice
Hillside Manor
Lamers Bus Company
Life Star Ambulance
O’Connell Pharmacy
Super 8 Hotel
The Old Barber Shop & Salon – Luey family

We couldn’t agree more with the family member who said, “Thank you to all the wonderful staff who took care of our loved ones during this time! You are truly amazing!” John Teresinski, Managing Director of Platinum Communities added, “We appreciate everyone’s efforts and the residents’ safe return. Weare proud to be members of the Columbus community.”
