VMG’s Generous Donations To YWCA Results In Honorable Renovations
The YWCA of Northwest Georgia’s Square Foot Club is an effort to renovate its
facility as well as the domestic violence shelter which is used to serve victims of domestic violence and sexual assault within the community. The YWCA currently has a 32- bed shelter, and a 60- bed transitional housing program with a 24-hour crisis line. Within a year, the YWCA of Northwest Georgia staff and volunteers have answered 3,615 hotline calls, served 216 women and children in emergency shelter between the ages of 0-59, provided outreach services to 1,636 community residents, and provided individual and group counseling to 462 victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
“The YWCA is a community organization that should be commended for the involvement they have in the community and helping victims of domestic violence. As a supporter and speaker for the YWCA I can personally say that they do not miss a beat when it comes to reaching out to victims, educating the public and providing housing and fresh starts for victims of domestic violence!” said Valuation Management Group’s President and CEO, Vicky Thompson. Thompson is currently on the board of the YWCA's subgroup, Academy of Women Leaders and will be appointed as chairperson this month. The board of Academy of Women Leaders has directed 300+ women of achievement from over the years.
