Press release from: Yellowfin

International Business Intelligence software vendor, Yellowfin, has partnered with data management experts, Ingres Corporation, certifying Yellowfin’s market-leading ease-of-use BI solution with Ingres VectorWise, the record-breakingly fast analytical database.

Melbourne, VIC, April 07, 2011 -- The partnership means that Yellowfin and VectorWise will be sold as a complete enterprise reporting and analytics solution. The deal delivers the world’s fastest and easiest to use total business analytics package, at a price point that makes world-class Business Intelligence accessible to everyone.

The growth of digital data worldwide is accelerating at an unprecedented rate, and according to recent research, computing storage capacity is growing at around 58 percent per year. The ability for enterprises to capture, collate and analyse organisational data is becoming simultaneously more important and difficult to manage.

“Organisations from across all industries, particularly data aggregators and those with large data volumes, now have the ability to achieve unmatched ROI through faster reporting and analytics, at a fraction of the cost, with less complexity,” said Yellowfin CEO and co-founder, Glen Rabie. “There’s no need for costly hardware upgrades or Business Intelligence (BI) tuning to easily achieve data analysis of big data stores at record-breaking pace with minimal demand on IT resources.”

“For years, BI and data warehousing companies have delivered products only affordable for organisations at the very top end of town,” said director and co-founder of YellowFin, Justin Hewitt. “Combining Yellowfin and VectorWise offers a business analytics package unparalleled in performance, speed, cost effectiveness, and ease-of-use,” said Hewitt.

In February, VectorWise smashed the Transaction Processing Performance Council’s TPC-H benchmark for the fastest analytical database at 100GB on a single cluster, delivering 340 per cent of the previous record (251,561 QphH@100GB on a single HP ProLiant DL380 G7 system, availability date March 31, 2011).

“Yellowfin is an ideal partner for Ingres,” said Fred Gallagher, general manager for the VectorWise business unit. “Our values and mission are well aligned, with Yellowfin’s BI solution and Ingres’ VectorWise database delivering easy-to-use, high performing products at a palatable price tag,” said Gallagher.

“The demand for new-generation business analytics solutions – comprising agile BI and analytical database technology that have the capacity to quickly, effectively and efficiently produce actionable intelligence from large data volumes – is set to skyrocket,” said Gallagher. “With Yellowfin and VectorWise, customers can experience easy to use reporting and analytics faster than ever before, which is exactly what today’s users expect.”
