YourLUME will be donating 100% of their profits, April 6-May 5, to the victims in Japan.
"I’ve spent a lot of time in Japan and can’t even imagine the devastation that they are currently enduring,” said Andrew Estey, Co-Founder and CEO of yourLUME. “The people I’ve met during my travels in Japan have always been kind and generous. I only hope that we can provide some assistance to them as they begin to rebuild.”
Mercy Corps’ number one priority right now is to fill the immediate need for basics – which include shelter, food and clean water. As well as, helping those coping with the emotional effects of the devastation. In the longer term, they will help earthquake-affected families and communities rebuild.
“Portland has a strong connection to Japan, and when we saw the devastation unfolding from the tsunami, we knew we wanted to help – we just didn’t know how. But after talking to Mercy Corp we knew the most important resource – and the most effective and efficient one to get to Japan – was monetary support,” said Sandy Ragnetti, Marketing and Business Development Director at yourLUME.
