Greenzys Proudly Announces Expansion to Over 650 Retail Locations Including Borders and the First Annual Family Earth Day Celebration Hosted by Ron Robinson/Fred Segal
Renowned book retailer Borders will begin carrying the Greenzys book along with the four plush toys, Willow the Elephant, Yew Yew the Panda, Peat the Penguin and Violet the Giraffe in their Borders superstores throughout U.S. and on Borders.com beginning today, April 5.
Ron Robinson/Fred Segal will host The Greenzys First Annual Family Earth Day Celebration at their legendary Melrose Ave. location in Los Angeles on April 21st. Greenzys Family Ambassadors Ed Begley Jr., Rachelle Carson-Begley and Hayden Begley are proud to be apart of this groundbreaking event, along with other participants that include, The Honorable Antonio R. Villaraigosa, Mayor of the City of Los Angeles, John Duran, Mayor of the City of West Hollywood, The Arbor Day Foundation, The Environmental Media Association, and a celebrity green carpet featuring a wide range of environmentally conscious stars of all ages. “We’re proud to host an event that promotes education and awareness of green issues”, says Ron Robinson.
GREENZYS are manufactured by Kids Preferred and they are currently in development with new products that are scheduled to launch later this year through additional major retailers during the holiday season.
Each GREENZYS toy purchased will support the Arbor Day Foundation (www.arborday.org) by the planting of a tree in one of our nation’s forests. Youngsters and their parents are encouraged to visit the Greenzys (www.greenzys.com) website to receive a personalized digital certificate acknowledging their planted tree contribution from their plush purchase.
In keeping with the spirit of the eco-friendly children’s brand commitment to environmental conservation, a percentage of every GREENZYS purchase benefits the non-profit Environmental Media Association (www.ema-online.org), founded by Cindy and Alan Horn and Lyn and Norman Lear. EMA has both an Executive Board and Young Hollywood Board with the most well-known and powerful names in Hollywood.
Since their launch on the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day in April of 2010, GREENZYS has received rave reviews from consumers, teachers, critics, and the media. GREENZYS has been featured on the cover of The New York Times, as a top holiday pick on Entertainment Tonight, ABC, FOX, NBC and countless others. People, Good Housekeeping, CNBC, Mother Nature Network, Treehugger, Kiwi and numerous other media outlets have sung Greenzys praises. From teachers to critics, green organizations to mommy and green bloggers, everyone agrees, Greenzys is the #1 eco-friendly brand for children.
GREENZYS founders, Mark Lieber and Lisa Keyser share a deep passion for animals and the environment. "GREENZYS is a fun and engaging way of involving young children in the daily activities of green living," say Lieber and Keyser. “We use The Greenzys story to reinforce the importance of green living practices such as conservation of natural resources, recycling, reusing and replanting. It is our intent to entertain and educate while simultaneously enabling children to cultivate these eco-friendly practices as habits that will sustain them throughout their lives.”
