Saloom Showcases New Dining Pieces at High Point Furniture Market

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 28, 2011 – Saloom Furniture Company, a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of American-made dining furniture, will showcase an array of new products during this week's High Point Furniture Market.

The pieces that Saloom will highlight include six modern maple buffets, two transitional buffets available in maple and cherry and one country-style maple buffet. The 50-inch and 60-inch buffets feature premium grade domestic veneers and solids, European hinges, and mortice and tenon box construction.

Saloom will showcase three new cherry finishes: Natural Cherry, Heritage Amber and Heritage Black Cherry. A recent AHMI survey indicates that American cherry was one of the top material choices in 2010; it is especially popular in traditional furniture. Two new maple finishes – Heritage Dune and Distressed Desert – will also be on display. The maple finishes feature neutral grays and browns and are available on all of their maple product lines.

“We're expanding our range of buffets in response to numerous consumer requests for smaller sizes,” Becki Gould, Saloom's marketing director, said. “We're confident that with the range of styles being introduced, there will be something for everyone. We're also strengthening our cherry dining line as we see a growing demand for the higher quality and lasting value of this popular wood species."

The dining pieces on exhibit are part of the Saloom New England and Skyline collections. The latter is a new collection of contemporary furniture for urban living spaces.
