"The idea for Desi Spark came to me out of necessity" says Seattle-based Alnur Ismail, the creator. "On a trip home to see family and friends I kept hearing a familiar story about having to pay in order to meet South Asians with similar morals and values."
Ismail noticed that subscription sites offered little more than the ability to search and contact those who fit certain criteria; and any inexpensive sites were low quality and unprofessional. Ismail used his years of industry web-design and programming experience from Microsoft to create a professional matrimony site that provides all the benefits of the subscription sites like finding and contacting potential matches, and offers it all for free.
