New Website Makes Travel Research Easier

04-02-2019 05:16 PM CET | Tourism, Cars, Traffic

Press release from: NextStop24

NextStop24 is a new website for travel inspiration and reviews. It was born out of the desire to make travel research easier for everyone. “Everyone is looking for the perfect vacation and, with just a few days off per year, it can be really hard to decide where to spend this precious time,” says Caroline Harsch, founder of NextStop24. “I don’t believe anyone should spend hours on research. Instead, each of us should be able to find our dream destination with just a few clicks.”

Travel Research Just Got Easier
After answering up to 14 questions about topics such as preferred month of departure, budget, and temperature, travelers immediately receive a personalized list of recommended destinations. They can narrow their suggestions further by stating the importance of additional factors, such as outdoor activities and nightlife. All suggestions are part of the NextStop24 database, which includes 120 destinations across every continent as of April 2019 and is always growing.

Reviews from Real Travelers
Much of the data for the filters is collected from reliable studies, such as The Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report by the World Economic Forum. Local activities, however, are rated by real travelers, who can also leave comments, recommendations, and tips on things to avoid in the region. More than 100 reviews have already been left on the website and this figure is on the rise.

“Slovenia wasn’t somewhere I’d heard of before planning my interrailing trip,” shares Isabel living in the UK, “but it soon became my favorite destination.” US resident Ali, who left a review for northern Italy, was amazed by the “absolutely stunning views in Cinque Terre” and recommends hiking between the five towns.

Ewa visited southeastern Australia and summarized her time there by writing: “Australia is the best place to go for a holiday. They have the most stunning beaches and plenty of things to do in in the cities.” Unsurprisingly, she rates the beaches & water, sightseeing, nightlife, and shopping categories five out of five stars. While Lukas awards Singapore with just two stars for the beaches & water category, he still describes the city-state as “the most amazing city I’ve visited so far”. This might be due to the sightseeing and shopping opportunities, which he rates with the maximum five stars.

“Public transport can be dirty and tricky,” warns Barbara, who lives in Brazil and visited Paris. Leah, meanwhile, shares a more positive review of the city, writing: “Make sure you go to the Jewish Quarter for the best falafel ever!” Bangkok is another controversial destination among travelers: “Beautiful skyscrapers, a great sky train, and huge shopping malls,” raves Jasmin, who lives in Germany. However, she also adds that “there are a lot of dilapidated buildings, waste, and dirt”. She loves the sightseeing and shopping opportunities in the city but awards the nature & outdoors category just one star.

Recommended Articles
Users can find out more about each region using the recommended articles sections, which is part of every destination page. “There are so many travel blogs out there that it can be almost impossible to find the most helpful and relevant ones for your trip,” says Caroline. “In the recommended articles section, we feature hand-picked bloggers who provide the most valuable information.” A blog does not need a large audience to be featured; instead, its posts must provide helpful and unique insights for a specific destination.

Creating a Travel Community
Travelers can also contribute articles to the NextStop24 Blog. “We want to create a community in which all travelers can share experiences and exchange tips,” says Caroline. There are already over 50 articles from 20 authors, who share both destination-specific posts, as well as general travel advice such as budgeting and overcoming culture shock.

NextStop24 is a new website for travel inspiration and reviews. It was founded by Caroline Harsch and launched in August 2018. As of April 2019, the NextStop24 database includes 120 destinations and more than 100 reviews from independent travelers. Users can find out more about each destination using NextStop24’s own content and in the recommended articles section, which features posts by hand-picked travel bloggers. The NextStop24 Blog is open to guest contributions, allowing travelers to share both destination-specific tips and general travel advice.
