A gripping performance: ALLMATIC DUO Plus boasts grip system

One of the most important keys to success in modern workpiece production is efficiency. Machines are supposed to perform more than just one task with fewest separate steps and tool changes possible. Dual high-pressure clamping sets like the 'DUO' produced by ALLMATIC-Jakob Spannsysteme GmbH are perfectly made for such applications. The company from Unterthingau in Bavarian Allgäu is now presenting the successor of its success model: DUO Plus 125. The high-pressure clamping set unites the advantages of its predecessor model and some handy innovations. DUO Plus 125 has been equipped with ALLMATIC's tried and tested 'grip system'. That way, clamping unfinished parts as well as pre-machined workpieces of different geometries is possible without any ado.

Customers appreciate ALLMATIC's competent service and the extremely high product quality. The company has long made a name for itself as one of the worldwide leading manufacturers of clamping elements. From machine vices with central clamping to complex clamping elements for flexible production centres: the experts in their industry always come up with the perfect solution for practically every field of application. In earlier systems like TITAN, T-Rex, and CENTRO Gripp, ALLMATIC has already successfully incorporated its innovative grip system which is a modular assembly kit with exchangeable jaws. It allows for perfectly adjusting the jaws which guarantees for maximum precision when clamping workpieces.

Clamping processes in perfection: especially workpieces with a complex shape can be a real challenge in machine processing. Frequently it is impossible to clamp circular or untreated workpieces by means of standard clamping jaws. Thanks to DUO Plus 125 this problem can be considered a thing of the past. The versatile range of different clamping jaws include step and support jaws as well as a universally applicable grip set and soft caps which allows for adapting the high-pressure clamping set to each and every item. The workpiece is clamped perfectly throughout the entire process which leads to excellent results. The modular system is the key to efficient and quick production processes and eliminates time-consuming tool changes.

Flexible positioning: the hole matrix on the surface of the clamping jaws enables the operator to position the grip dies freely and to clamp items with challenging shapes safely. The height of the grip dies can be adjusted by means of spacer rings or the die itself. The grip set includes a large number of adjusting and setscrews which make it easy to position the workpiece in the desired location. When working with sensitive material, soft jaws can be installed to protect the workpiece.

Another innovation in comparison to the predecessor model is the possibility to adjust the jaws flexibly. That way, workpieces with different sizes can be clamped in the two mountings of DUO Plus. And thanks to the grip system they can even have a different texture. An example: the first unit can be equipped with jaws that enter the surface of an unmachined part while a pre-machined workpiece is secured by standard parallel jaws in the other mounting. Within just one tool-changing process, two parts of different shapes and textures can be treated in one go.

DUO Plus is primarily meant as a mono block in large machines such as horizontal milling machines. However, the high-pressure clamping set can be mounted to a machine table, too. The fully enclosed maintenance-free high-pressure spindle facilitates chip removal and maintenance and guarantees reproducible clamping forces of up to 40 kN. Highest quality down to the smallest detail - DUO Plus is a textbook example for ALLMATIC's philosophy.
