Udemy is an online platform with over 1 million different courses with topics that range from ‘How to do Computer Coding’ to ‘How to Meditate’. The variety is astonishing. I must admit when I first started in 2014, I was intimidated by all the other instructors. But that quickly went away and within a year, I started to make enough to pay most of my bills. The 2nd year I quit my job and was working on my 4th online course.

The first secret is to go take a few Udemy courses to see what it is all about. You will definitely want to take courses that spark your interest. You will realize that the instructors are regular people like you and me. They are just showing you what they know and something you don’t. That’s how it works.

You can literally teach anything from how to cook breakfast to how to mow your lawn and it will sell! Right now, I have over 13,000 students. I talk to my students regularly on Udemy and on my Facebook group that I created for them. So, the 2nd secret is to keep in good communication with your students because it shows that you care and certainly puts you above many other instructors who just create a course and never return.

The third secret is to always update the lectures inside your course and announce it when it is complete. This makes the students feel that they are getting the newest information instead of outdated ones.
