Oilgae Publishes “Algae Status Report” in Conjunction with

Madrid, Spain (Vocus/PRWEB) January 26, 2011

Riding on the success of CMT’s highly-acclaimed Algae World series, the third Europe conference is scheduled to take place on the 16-17 May 2011, in Madrid, Spain. As a lead-up to the conference, Oilgae has published a report on “Algae: How Far Are We from Commercialization?” that serves as valuable backgrounder and explores real world status of the industry.

In the past decade, algae’s importance as a biofuel feedstock has slowly risen. On top of record-high oil prices last year, the attractiveness of algae as a viable alternative energy source has grown.

For that reason, the 20-page paper will critically review core issues in the algae industry and explore algae’s progress towards large-scale commercialization.

The paper sheds light on prominent industry players and their algae production strategies, addressing their successes as well as future plans. Oilgae also taps on their experience to present forecast on the industry’s outlook for the next ten years, analyzing current developments and possible trends.

Besides providing updates on the progress and efforts of major algae projects worldwide, summarized within the report are key examples of large oil companies’ joint ventures and tie-ups with the algae sector.

Other highlights include first-hand insights on the key barriers to algae fuels, addressed under three main categories: Key Challenges; Algae Fuel Production Cost; and Entry Barriers.

The white paper is available now as a complimentary download from the official event page. For more information on the conference, one may contact Ms. Huiyan at (65) 6346 9113.

CMT conference programs are tailored for today’s and tomorrow’s evolving business environment where technology, markets and products continuously change to gain a competitive edge. In fast changing business environments where knowledge obsolescence is a feature, CMT events offer the most effective opportunity to narrow the knowledge gaps. High quality analysis, precise insights and strategic directions define CMT's events

However, traditional optical microscopy methods face two major technical bottlenecks: first, inefficient manual sorting, which makes it difficult to rapidly process large quantities of samples in the field; and second, reliance on laboratory analysis, which prevents in-situ real-time monitoring and results in delayed early warning of sudden algal blooms.
