Bank of Easton President Appointed to Steer Fed Advisory Council

(Easton, MA) Bank of Easton President Tom Caron was recently appointed to serve on a 12 member Advisory Council of the Boston Federal Reserve. This is one of 12 new committees formed to share concerns with each of the 12 regional banks in the Federal Reserve system. These committees are designed to listen to the specific concerns of smaller institutions as they deal with economy, lending conditions, and other bank-related issues, and are the first of their kind dedicated specifically to this kind of initiative. Members of the Advisory Council represent financial institutions under $10 billion from all six New England states. In his new role on the Advisory Council, Tom Caron invites businesses and consumers to share their ideas on financial reform in our communities, the Commonwealth, and greater New England. According to Caron, “I feel very privileged to be selected to serve on the Federal Reserve’s Boston Advisory Council in order to study financial issues, impact change in bank practices, and interact with people in the community. As a community banker for over 35 years, I believe I understand the impact of economic shifts. I also believe that community banks can aid local businesses and individuals by loosening credit and being rate-competitive, even in these uncertain times.”
