Ciklum Hosts First Android Hackathon in Kiev, Ukraine
Kiev, Ukraine – Ciklum, a Danish IT outsourcing company specialized in nearshore software development in Eastern Europe, hosted the first Android Hackathon in Ukraine. The hackathon was held in line with the second developers contest supported by HTC.More than 120 Android developers from all over Ukraine gathered for the Hackathon on the 26th of February, 2011. This was by far the biggest event hosted by Ciklum for Android developers. The gathering has also revealed that the Android platform is quite popular among Ukrainian developers.

Following the presentations, 80 developers were divided onto 16 teams for an application development contest. After an interestingly tight collaboration, 14 functioning Android application prototypes were presented.
According to participant votes, the best application prototype was created by a team that included two Ciklum employees, Artem Vituyk and Alexey Ustenko. The application allows to check the quality of the roads and to share this information with other application users.
