Press release from: Navigation Solutions

/ PR Agency: Power Public Relations, LLC
Navigation Solutions, developer of the Hertz NeverLost® Gen5 GPS unit and supporting online travel services, will give smartphone users another way to enjoy its My Explore Hawaii™ mobile travel application this spring and summer.

Company officials announced that My Explore Hawaii, the company’s first mobile travel app introduced in December for the iPhone, will be available as a Google Android™ application, OS 2.2 versions and above. The Android application for My Explore Hawaii will debut in time for demonstrating its range of capabilities at the CTIA Wireless 2011 trade show Mar. 20-24 in Orlando, FL.

“We are excited to announce our expansion to the Android platform which allows us to increase our content distribution reach as the adoption of Android devices accelerates,” commented Linda Senigaglia, Senior Director of Product Marketing. “Our customers will now have other means of discovering our content.”

Complementing Hertz’s recently introduced NeverLost Explore Hawaii feature on the Gen5 unit, My Explore Hawaii is packed with rich multi-media content that brings to life the magic and allure of Hawaii’s most popular islands –Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and Big Island (Hawaii). With hundreds of ideas for visiting natural attractions, historic sites, the best beaches, and enjoying Hawaii’s best golf, guided excursions, shopping and current events, My Explore Hawaii is the must-have travel app for all things Hawaii.

Like the iPhone version, My Explore Hawaii on the Android platform features vibrant images, voice narrative and text descriptions that make it ideal for planning a trip to Hawaii, as well as exploring all that the islands have to offer when there. With its Quick Code™ feature, My Explore Hawaii gives NeverLost Gen5 GPS customers a short-cut for turn-by-turn directions to locations and events, making it the perfect travel guide in Hawaii.

Additional key features not typically available on other mobile travel apps include:
• Event listings over a 30-day period with start times, contact and ticket information;
• Map view from your current location to desired location by car, public transportation or on foot;
• Augmented Reality with audio output to enhance your visual experience, that simulates a personal tour guide;

• The unique capability to share your experiences with family and friends on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr by posting to My Explore’s Facebook Wall or connecting directly to the My Explore Twitter feed;
• Weather updates with current conditions and three-day forecasts for each island;
• Bookmark feature to find your favorite Hawaiian spot and organize selected destinations via an available map view showing sites in relation to each other;
• Free-form search for specific listings using a word or phrase.

The My Explore Hawaii Android application will be available in the Android Market for $2.99.
