Free Long-Term Care Insurance Cost-Reducing Guide Offered By Trade Group

The nation's leading health and aging experts predict that the number of individuals needing the type of care categorized as long-term care will explode in the next decade.

"You have 76 million baby boomers who are just starting to turn 65," explains Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance www.aaltci.org, the leading industry trade organization focused on educating Americans on how to plan for the looming problem.

To educate individuals about the importance of long-term care planning and ways to make insurance protection more affordable, the organization is making available a free informational guide.

"Our research revealed that few adults over the age of 50 were aware of the discounts available that can make long-term care insurance quite affordable," says Slome. "These savings can help individuals reduce the cost of long-term health care coverage by between 20-and-50 percent yearly." Knowing what savings and discounts are available from leading insurance companies becomes money-wise for all, he adds.

For example, the guide explains that discounts are available when applicants meet certain health qualifications. Non-smokers may qualify for savings and couples or partners who apply for protection may be eligible for savings, even when only one individual obtains insurance coverage.
