DaRosa was born in the Netherlands under the name Rose, but goes by the nickname DaRosa to present her art. She moved to Canada in 2008 to start a family, and had her first baby, a beautiful boy, in March of 2009. She uses her son, and her other children, as a source of inspiration for her paintings, which present fantastical wild animals who always wear a smile.

Working for years in the business of satellite and communications, DaRosa decided to indulge her creative side and become a full-time artist, focusing on art for children. She enjoys the color and simplicity of creating for kids while also using techniques that appeal to parents. Her art is designed to stimulate the mind of the child, as well as the visual senses. DaRosa is fascinated with the development of a newborn's eyesight, and she uses her designs to accelerate visual progress, even on her own children. She admits to asking her kids to rate her paintings, and walking her youngest through her painting room, noticing where he points and smiles.
