I started to read “Where is My Home?” after lunch. I finished it at 2am! It is a wonderfully moving emotional rollercoaster. There was a point when I didn't want to continue and then I couldn't put it down. I found myself with tears at several moments

From an historical perspective, it is a great insight into mid-20th century Europe from the position of two (extra) ordinary and principled characters. The research must have been meticulous.

It is superb.

Dramatic insight into some lesser known history

I really enjoyed this book from two very different points of view. On one hand, I was deeply impressed by the author's research, knowledge and obvious comfort with the historical material, and on the other, I became truly involved with Tomas and his compelling emotional and political struggles. (And the actual characters and fictional ones are woven together seamlessly.)

There's no hiding from the fact that the action and jeopardy are grim, but they are always gripping and tinged with hope, making the whole journey a rather radiant and positive adventure story.

And I'm also grateful to learn more about this important twentieth century history - like many people I knew only the barest details.
