Media meets 3D – First 3D-Autostereo-System

Hamburg, 22th of February 2011.
UNITED ENTERTAIN: World premiere oft the first 3D-full-video system for the close-up range without needing glasses or other tools for watching digital signage at the Point-of-Sale and Digital-Out-of-Home.

For the first time ever there will be an optimized 3D-System with the newest
3D-technology, specially developed for broadcasting 3D-advertisment and 3D-infotainment at the Point-of-Sale/POS. Finally advertisers are able to use the strong trend in 3D for their innovative and emotional brand communication. Throughout the new technology they can present their brands as well as content in a persuasive 3D-optik in a very short viewing distance.

On the occasion of this years CeBIT in Hanover, Germany, UNITED ENTERTAIN presents – 3D Digital-Out-of-Home-Media in professional circles. The first autostereoscopic advertising system, which allows viewers to watch and experience 3D in direct contact without using any tools like 3D-glasses. For the first time some people simultaneously are able to see stereoscopic pictures in a very short viewing distance. They will see breath-taking animations and effective moving-image-content in 3D throughout different perspectives in narrow distance.

Based on the technology, previous 3D-screens and displays just could be used at the POS in a limited way in close-up distance and not at all in DOOH-areas. For optimized perception, viewers had to stay away approximately 3,0 to 4,5m constantly. Furthermore, the screens were very expensive and dark, and could not be used if light incidence occurred in a strongly way.

During the last years and months it was publicised that 3D will not stand a chance in Digital-Out-Home-Media (DOOHM) – but things are changing in 2011. „3D of good quality with manageable costs will have a great chance in national moving image network” media entrepreneur Frank Buddenhagen, CEO and one of the founders of UNITED ENTERTAIN. In cooperation with their technology partner and „CLD“-developer 3D International Europe in Jena, UNITED ENTERTAIN stands for „Made in Germany“ including serial production and manufacturing 3D-screens in Germany as a location of business.

The DOOH-System „GALERIA“ will be introduced in Hanover in cooperation: The system consists of a high class and luxury plastic case and, subject to model, single or both-sided autostereo-screens starting 21,5“ for free glasses. A high-performance play-out-system assures high class and steady delivery of the 3D content. Directly via UMTS, and in future via LTE (4G-Technologie), the system will be managed, and served remotely via „Advertising/Content-Management-System“ (ACMS) without complex and localised network wiring.
