Program of Early Care and Education Invests Wisely in its Educators

The Kids’ Place, a provider of quality early childhood education in MA and CT, will hold its first annual Winter 2011 L.I.F.E. Conference on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Hampden Country Club in Hampden, Massachusetts.

The Winter 2011 L.I.F.E. Conference ( “Leadership Institute for Educators”) is a full day retreat consisting of nine different 90-minute professional development workshops for the company’s 120+ educators. The Kids’ Place is renewing its commitment to not only the education of all of its children, but also the professional development and enrichment of its staff. The Winter L.I.F.E. Conference is only one of three annual full day retreats that The Kids’ Place will be providing to train and develop their Educators.

On February 21st educators from all eight of The Kids’ Place locations will convene in Hampden for a day of learning, team-building, and of course, fun. The theme of the 2011 conference is “Reach for the Stars” and one of the guest speakers is Kevin Fusco, Executive Director of Massachusetts Child Care Resource and Referral Network.

Many professional development classes will be taught, including Fostering Creativity in Your Classroom, Communication, Developmental Red Flags, and Circle Time is the Right Time! “Investing in workforce development is crucial in the field of Early Education and Care. We have the opportunity and privilege of serving our children and their families,” says Scott Petersen, President and CEO. “Our field of work is always evolving and we strive to be at the forefront of current trends in order to provide the best quality care. In order to realize this goal, we need educators who learn, grow and develop both individually and as a team.”

The Kids’ Place prides itself in providing families with high quality care and learning for infants, toddlers, preschool, kindergarten and school age children. The company owns and operates eight early learning centers and is committed to providing excellence in education for young children. The Kids’ Place opened its first early learning center in 1982 in West Springfield and has since grown to eight centers throughout MA and CT.
