The Father of Pinot Grigio Anthony Terlato?s Devil?s Peak is Rich Red Blend

Anthony J. Terlato is known as the “The Father of Pinot Grigio’ but his success was established long before he introduced Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio to America in 1979.

Today, Anthony Terlato is 76 and works daily with his sons Bill and John and together they operate Terlato Wines International and produces wine at the family-owned wineries in California, including Chimney Rock, Rutherford Hill, Terlato Family Vineyards, Alderbrook and Sanford.

The Terlato family, have owned and operated Rutherford Hill since 1996. Their launch of their own line of premium California wines,Terlato Family Vineyards is extra special. Devils’ Peak is a member of their critically acclaimed “peak series” of wines. The peak wines – Angels’ Peak, Cardinals’ Peak and Devils’ Peak, are all Napa Valley blends. Each wine stands as a Californian salute to the three legendary Bordeaux appellations of Pomerol, Margaux and St. Émilion.

Devils’ Peak is predominately Cabernet Franc and is an outstanding tribute to St. Émilion. The wine captures the forward, racy aromatics of Cabernet Franc with a vibrant mouthfeel. The blending is masterful and it’s an artistic expression of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot that add depth and complexity to this outrageous wine.

Larry ‘Smokey’ Genta is an award-winning Hospitality Industry specialist, a bartender and writer. Known as ‘The Bar Mechanic’. Online, In-print, and via video blogs the Beverage Underground Network looks at the industry that connects hospitality, tourism, entertainment and marketing...and one that is so vital to the economy of every community.
