Frankfurt am Main, March 2019: "SOS Buddy" online message display for text and voice messages.

The HMB | TEC GmbH for electronic systems presents in the product portfolio 2019 a novel, multifunctional display panel for private and commercial use. Due to the ePaper technology used, power consumption is very low. As a result, the display is suitable for self-sufficient continuous use by means of battery supply. In addition, the displays have a USB socket for powering via a USB power supply.

The main application of the approximately 26x16x3cm large message panel is the presentation of email content, either in the usual way via any email program, e.g. "Mail" or "Outlook", or sent via natural language, so via a voice input system such as "Siri" Apple or "Cortana" sent by Microsoft. So the user can comment on the phrase "Hey Siri, send email to MESSAGE PANEL with the subject HELLO TREASURE, I WILL COME LATER and CONTENT ON THE A5 JAM, BUSSI". The display can be hung anywhere on a wall or at a free parking space on the desk.

Optionally, the Message Display with additional functions is available - the naming of the product "SOS Buddy" already indicates this. Two buttons, one green and one red, allow the user to send messages to the sender of the email message himself. The green button sends a receipt and the red one "call me!" Message.

Another option is an integrated motion sensor. Depending on the configuration - which is carried out very conveniently via the integrated web server - the sensor registers person movements depending on the day / night time and sends an e-mail message to one or more freely selectable recipients in the event of a long absence.

The manufacturer does not want to replace an emergency call indicator with these additional functions and only equip its lifestyle and comfort range with useful gadget functions. Detailed instructions and application descriptions are given by the manufacturer in the operating instructions of his product.

At the time of going to press, HMB | TEC announced that the balloon message panels will be available in different colors. In addition, the "SOS Buddy" is also planned as a "wearable". Here two variants are favored, a wristband and a transhipment device.

Since 2008, we have been developing applications (apps) for Apple's mobile devices. As part of the Apple MFi program hardware has been developed to connect to the iPhone docking connector and now converges in the direction of wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi, RFID). Our focus is on measurement and control technology, lighting and equipment (remote) control (smart home automation), electronic music and lifestyle and fitness products.
For quite some time now the topic "IoT" (Internet of Things) has been in focus. In addition to numerous native apps, HMB | TEC also develops so-called web apps, which exchange their data with the device hardware via virtual databases independent of platform. On the basis of Web 3.0 in the context of Industry 4.0, converging developments emerge that enable global data exchange between man and machine as well as between machines.
