International Association for Suicide Prevention

The International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) has shortened the URL to its Facebook fan page to facebook.com/IASPinfo.

In late 2009, a Facebook Fan page was created for the IASP and a long URL was assigned. Since then, over 7,600 Facebook users have become Fans of the IASP, supporting its local and worldwide suicide prevention initiatives. The Facebook URL has now been shortened to allow Facebook and other Web users easy access to the page.

Facebook Users are invited to: visit the IASP FB Fan Fan page, click the "like" button and to share our good work with their Facebook friends.

Established in Vienna in 1960, by the late Professor Erwin Ringel, IASP is the key Non-Government Organisation (NGO) in official relations with the World Health Organisation (WHO) in addressing suicide. It has membership from over 50 countries and has brought global attention to the unacceptable loss of approximately 1 million people who die world-wide by suicide each year. The IASP also holds World Suicide Prevention Day annually in over 50 countries throughout the world on September 10th.
