Kent, England (28 January, 2011) - Free Dating 24-7, one of the UK’s leading free dating sites, announce that they have altered their website’s new design after finding that the re-launch had caused significant bounce rate issues.Following a complete overhaul of their website in November 2010, Free Dating 24-7 has revealed that the bounce rate of site visitors and members had significantly risen after the changes were implemented. The design, which was hoped to offer visitors easier navigation and reduced site loading times, had produced the opposing desired effect and has caused the company to considerably alter most of the changes that were made.
Although the number of people using the website and amount of sign-ups had increased, these new members were not staying on the site or using it for an extended period of time and thus weren’t amounting to dedicated, frequent users. Free Dating 24-7 drew the conclusion that new members did not like the new design, and found that backing-out the changes actually led to a promising 15% reduction in the site’s bounce rate.
“Naturally, we are disappointed that our website renovation project didn’t have the impact we hoped it would, but we are determined to repair any possible damage that our venture had on our site’s dedicated user rate,” commented Andy Blundell, director of Free Dating 24-7. “There is a lot of competition out there in the dating sites industry, so as soon as we came across the bounce rate issue, we concentrated all our efforts on implementing a plan of action that would resolve it. We were able to do this in a timely and effective fashion, and are now focussed on exploring other avenues to make our site more user-friendly and attractive.”
