ELCON @ FTTH Conference Milan

Milan, Italy – FTTH Conference 2011, ELCON Booth S08, February 8th, 2011
As part of its efforts to provide service providers and network operators capabilities to address the fast growing demand for FTTH services, ELCON today has launched its new Ethernet-based access devices for copper and fiber: The new FOS 1000 and EAD 1000 further strengthen ELCON’s already successfully shipped Blue Wing product family. The new launch is the next logical step to enhance the existing Fast Ethernet based FOS 100, FOS 200 and EAD 100 products.

“Subscribers, end users and consequently network providers put their focus on high-performing devices to use all ultra-broadband services”, said Lars Bahlmann, Business Line Manager at ELCON. “ELCON can now better support this demand”, Bahlmann continued.

The new Blue Wing devices provide Gigabit WAN interfaces for fiber and copper and full Gigabit switching and layer-three routing performance including a Dual Core three-Gigabit network processor capable to reliably handle even multiple high-definition (HD) video streams simultaneously.

In line with ELCON´s strategy to enable service providers to support a wide set of applications, the new Gigabit product family offers a rich feature set including Voice over IP (VoIP) for POTS and ISDN, WiFi, optical interfaces for SFP, MSP WDM and an optical TV converter with AGC (Automatic Gain Control).

The Blue Wing FOS 1000 and EAD 1000 are available this year from Q2 on. Focused on the mass market of tomorrow, ELCON is able to secure already today high quality and future-proof products.
